Music Notes…and More

What a fabulous April it was for your Music Director. Many, many thanks go to everyone who planned, coordinated, and participated in my tenth anniversary celebration. It couldn’t have been better! I was overwhelmed with everything, especially your generous gift. Where else could you go to have wonderful food, a song composed and sung just for the occasion, a beautiful poem, tributes, with some well deserved ribbings, and a slide show accompanied by some classical music. My granddaughter asked her mother, if this is what they do for his tenth anniversary celebration, what will they do when he retires? Again thanks for everything you do. I love being your organist-Music Director.

Speaking of music, we once again have some special music coming your way in the next few weeks. Our Sanctuary Bell Choir will be ringing the prelude on May 4th, and then taking their customary summer break. There will be a prelude on Pentecost Sunday featuring the organ and Brandon Parsons on the trumpet. On June 1st, we will have another duet prelude featuring the organ and piano, played by Jolene Miller. You won’t want to miss these special members contributing their musical talents in the service of our Lord.

Music is a wonderful gift from God and I encourage you to share whatever musical talents you have with your church. If you would like to serve in this way, please see me after any service on Sunday morning, or call the church office at 214-363-4355.

Our regularly scheduled rehearsals are every Wednesday as follows:

Sanctuary Choir 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. |  Evening Prayer Worship 7:10 – 7:30 p.m. | Sanctuary Bell Choir 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Prayerfully consider joining the music ministry at Christ Lutheran and sharing your talents. AND MORE…
