Christ Lutheran Church Women (CLCW) President Jacquie McConnell writes: Autumn is upon us, and this year is a very special autumn as we exercise our right to vote. Recently, I ran across this quote from General Colin Powell: You have been given citizenship in a country like none other on earth, with opportunities available to you like nowhere else on earth. What will be asked of you is hard work; nothing will be handed to you. Use your education and success in life to help those still trapped in cycles of poverty and violence. Above all, never lose faith in America. ts faults are yours to fix, not curse.” We hope you will find a place in Christ’s congregation to use your education and success to reach out to those trapped in cycles of poverty and violence. As we move through the church year, let us be ever mindful of how we can make a difference in the lives of others and be an example of God’s love.
