Integrating Faith Throughout Your Child’s Day
The Christ Lutheran Church Child Development Center is an integral part of the ministry of Christ Lutheran Church. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which children from a variety of backgrounds can learn and grow.
Our Philosophy
As a ministry of Christ Lutheran Church, we integrate faith throughout the day. Prayer, worship, exposure to religious stories, Bible verses and symbols are an inherent aspect of our programming. Our ministry focuses on God’s love and grace and a calling to share Christ’s love and care with others. Our toddlers through preschoolers attend a weekly "Worship and Wonder" chapel at 8:30 on Wednesday mornings led by our school and church staff members.
Development
Christ Lutheran Church Child Development Center is a developmental school for young children. We design intentional learning experiences to encourage physical, social-emotional, aesthetic, cognitive and spiritual development. We understand that all children come to our program with a unique set of skills they are trying to master. All of our activities are presented in an open-ended way to meet children intentionally at different skill levels. Our teachers are knowledgeable about developmental milestones and pay attention to your children’s acquisition of new skills.
Curriculum
Our teachers and staff work together to create a thematic curriculum that is interesting to young children and offers vast opportunities for children to learn about their world. Our goal is to encourage our children to become life-long learners. As children become older, we integrate academic concepts through the natural way children play so they are prepared for future educational endeavors. Our themes generally last two weeks and include language, math, science, art, dramatic play, movement, music, multi-cultural, and cooking activities. We also integrate thematic materials into our learning centers to encourage self-initiated play.

Tours to prospective parents are available each Thursday between 8 and 11 a.m. After touring, you may choose to put your child on a waiting list for a fee of $50 per child. We cannot guarantee when your child will be placed in our program. Priority is given to families who are currently in the program, although they must complete the waiting list application and pay the appropriate fees. To schedule your tour, please call the office at 214-363-2242.
Enrollment
Once you have been offered a placement in the program, you must complete enrollment paperwork and pay the appropriate fees. Families who are new to the center will also need to complete a series of forms concerning health requirements, emergency information, and information about your child.
Our school year is divided into three terms: Fall, Spring and Summer. For the 2008-2009 academic year, families will continue to re-enroll each term. However, beginning with the 2009-2010 academic year, enrollment will take place by the year each January.
