2010 FIRST SUNDAY FOOD DRIVE 

A total of 326 pounds of non-perishable items was collected in May for the Mt. Olive Food Pantry, including 506 items on the food pantry’s "wish list". That brings the 2010 total to 1,712 pounds and 2,829 items.

Any non-perishable items are appreciated, but the Mt. Olive Food Pantry has identified the following as its most consistent needs. The numbers represent the number of items collected to date and those in parentheses represent our collection goals for 2010.

For homeless lunch bags: Vienna sausages 394 (1500), fruit cups 479 (1500), and peanut butter/cheese crackers 1017 (1500).

For homeless hygiene kits (small sizes): soap 234 (750), shampoo 119 (500), lotion 139 (500), razors 51 (250), toothbrushes 53 (150) and toothpaste 48 (150).

For families in needs: canned meats 27 (50) and chili/stew/hearty soups 268 (250).
