The Mt. Olive Food Pantry, operated out of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, serves as an emergency food source for families facing a variety of crises as well as the homeless. Christ Lutheran Church collects non-perishable items the FIRST SUNDAY of every month for the Mt. Olive Food Pantry. Any non-perishable items are appreciated, but the Mt. Olive Food Pantry has identified the following as its most consistent needs. The numbers in parentheses represent our collection goals for 2010. For homeless lunch bags: Vienna sausages (1500), fruit cups (1500), and peanut butter or cheese crackers (1500). For homeless hygiene kits (small sizes): soap (750), shampoo (500), lotion (500), razors (250), toothbrushes (150) and toothpaste (150). For families in needs: canned meats (50) and chili/stew/hearty soups (250). |
