Fall Youth Actvities

After their Summer Pool Tour, the high school youth are back to meeting for dinner, planning and Bible study on Sunday evenings, and the middle schoolers are back to Confirmation classes on Wednesday evenings, also beginning with dinner.  The classes were preceded by a Confirmation Retreat on Friday evening and Saturday, September 7-8.  Instead of going to Briarwood, the continuing and new students met at the church for a lock-in and then relaxed at the pool at Pastor Bill and Carol Waxenberg’s home.  September also saw the start of a First Bible class for grades 3-5, which will conclude in November with a retreat.

Another activity in which the youth participated, but which involved all of the church and the CDC, was a picnic at Curtis Park after the second service on September 16.  This was a combined effort of the Youth Committee, Fellowship Committee, and CDC, and was a chance for church members and CDC families to have fellowship together.  There were about 70 name tags used, and a lot of the children didn’t wear them, so it was a pretty good turnout.  Thanks to everyone who helped!

Some activities planned from October through December include a camping trip for high school youth, a Youth Sunday worship service, a craft activity for elementary youth, family paint ball day, the LYO Jr. High Youth Gathering, a high school drive-in movie night, an Advent retreat for grades 4-6, and participation in the annual Christmas caroling to shut-ins, led by Suzanne Dunkelberg.  Some details are in the calendar on these pages – stay tuned for more!

Also remember that Families INC has activities for families with young children.
