2010 First Sunday Food Drive

2010 FIRST SUNDAY FOOD DRIVE 

A total of 350 pounds of non-perishable items was collected in August for the Mt. Olive Food Pantry, including406 items on the food pantry’s "wish list". That brings the 2010 total to 2,897 pounds and 4,755 items.

Any non-perishable items are appreciated, but the Mt. Olive Food Pantry has identified the following as its most consistent needs. The numbers represent the number of items collected to date and those in parentheses represent our collection goals for 2010.

For homeless lunch bags: Vienna sausages 690 (1500), fruit cups 875 (1500), and peanut butter/cheese crackers 1893 (1500).

For homeless hygiene kits (small sizes): soap 325 (750), shampoo165 (500), lotion 165 (500), razors 97 (250), toothbrushes 60 (150) and toothpaste 63 (150).

For families in needs: canned meats 40 (50) and chili/stew/hearty soups 382 (250).
