WOW! This has certainly been a busy summer. We have had two new hymn fests during the summer, where we gathered in between services and sang some wonderful new hymn from our new hymnal. We also spent an hour looking at setting two of our liturgy from ELW. We sang it wonderfully and will begin using this setting on September, 28th.

At the end of last month and the first of this month, my wife Kathy and I spent some great time at our summer home in Upstate New York. I basically spent most of the time swimming in Otisco Lake. It is located one mile from Skaneateles Lake and both are considered part of the Finger Lakes. As always, it was a wonderful time to rest and see family members still in the area.

While I was away, a big thanks to Ann Stordahl for playing the organ and to Kelly Austin and Suzanne Dunkelberg for providing the Sunday special music. Our special music this year has been extra special, and thanks go to all who have participated.

I can’t believe it, but the summer is ending and it’s time for school to begin. We return to our normal schedules including those of our choirs.

Rehearsals start again as follows:

 
• Wednesday, September 3rd, Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal at 6:00 p.m. in the loft!
 
• Wednesday, September 24th, Sanctuary Bell Choir Rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.
 
• Sunday, September 21st, Youth Choir at the beginning and end of Sunday School.

There are exciting times coming this fall with Rally Sunday, The Bridge, the dedication of our new building, Reformation Sunday, All Saints Sunday, and Christ The King Sunday. These special Sundays bring extra special music. You’ll want to be apart of our great music program, so set aside the above times for rehearsal and come join the fun of MUSIC!

We are always looking for new members for any of our choirs, so please plan to come to the first scheduled rehearsal or see our Music Director, Chuck Blanchard after any service, or call at the church office.
