Thanksgiving Worship OpportunitiesWith grateful hearts we come before our God! With songs of praise we offer our thanksgivings to the God who has blessed us with the gift of life! With words and deeds we thank him, serve him, bless him. Grateful hearts are one of the surest signs of as deep and abiding faith. So we will have no less than three thanksgiving services during the month of November! The first one will be on November 2, All Saints Sunday, when we will thank God for those we have loved who have gone before us into his eternal kingdom. The saints of God have thankful hearts. In addition, to this day, then, we will also pledge our dollars for the work of his kingdom here and now. Pledge cards will be mailed to you the week before. Our financial pledges are one way we have of saying “thank you” to God for all he has done and continues to do. Our second Sunday of thanksgiving will be on November 9, when our Christ Lutheran Church Women will lead worship. It’s their annual Thankoffering Service. It’s an opportunity to thank our God for the blessing of women in the work of ministry. And our third service of thanksgiving will be celebrated on Sunday, November 23, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, when we will have a traditional thanksgiving worship service. (Christ the King Sunday, the last Sunday after Pentecost, will be observed a week earlier, on November 16.) |
