2010 FIRST SUNDAY FOOD DRIVE 

A total of 350 pounds of non-perishable items was collected in August for the Mt. Olive Food Pantry, including406 items on the food pantry’s "wish list". That brings the 2010 total to 2,897 pounds and 4,755 items.

Three years after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Mississippi Gulf Coast, thousands of families still live in unsafe temporary housing. On behalf of its members, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has committed $2.5 million to Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast to build up to 40 homes, plus a neighborhood pavilion and a park. This is part of a $125 million alliance between Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity International to build thousands of homes in the U.S. and around the world.
