It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praise to your name, O Most High!

I Peter 1:3-9
Second Sunday of Easter
William S. Waxenberg, Pastor
Sometimes you can’t help but rejoice. Sometimes there’s just such good news that you want to shout it from the housetops. So it is with our psalmist for today. He’s been blessed by God—and he knows it.
As a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, this month our school celebrates “Week of the Young Child” on April 13-19.
And we celebrated that resurrection in grand style. It started with the 6:30 a.m. sunrise service, when some 40 parishioners processed in with individual candles behind the Christ candle. Betsy Lintel sang “Were You There When God Raised Him from the Tomb?” The resurrection gospel was read followed by the congregation singing, “Jesus Christ Is Risen Today.” The 8:30 and 11:00 o’clock services were extra festive with all their special music and wonderful congregational singing. Thanks go to our Sanctuary Bell Choir, our Sanctuary Choir and to Brandon Parsons on trumpet for adding so much musical joy to our celebrations.
Spring is in the air...mark your calendars for the following CLCW events taking place in April!
Congratulations to the following congregational officers, elected by the congregation council at its March meeting:
A new class, beginning on April 13 and continuing for five sessions (no session on April 29 due to Synod Assembly) will be led by Intern Kathy. We will be working through a Bible study on stewardship with a resource called “Choosing Boldly, Serving Faithfully.” Bring your Bible and prepare to learn and discuss the many ways we are charged with being stewards of God’s creation.
