With my warm, woolen, woven scarf completed, I have begun a new weaving project, building on the knowledge I gained while making the winter scarf, this time using different fiber, different techniques and different equipment to make a delicate, light-weight shawl. This item will be worked on a loom that involves some different operating principles to achieve the same goal as the first loom I used. What I learned while working on the Schacht Baby Wolf jack loom will serve as a basis for the knowledge I will acquire while weaving on a Louet countermarch loom. I won’t be starting completely over, but instead will learn where the new knowledge intertwines with the old, and how to draw on both for the benefit of the newest endeavor.

What a wonderful and blessed spring we have! Starting out our spring term in a new facility, hiring new staff, and continued growth in enrollment have led us to being at full capacity beginning the summer term at the end of May. What joy it is to share such good news! As I think about the challenges our school has faced in the last few years, I am comforted to see how God’s work and the faith of our people has held us in tact and brought us new life.

What a fabulous April it was for your Music Director. Many, many thanks go to everyone who planned, coordinated, and participated in my tenth anniversary celebration. It couldn’t have been better! I was overwhelmed with everything, especially your generous gift. Where else could you go to have wonderful food, a song composed and sung just for the occasion, a beautiful poem, tributes, with some well deserved ribbings, and a slide show accompanied by some classical music. My granddaughter asked her mother, if this is what they do for his tenth anniversary celebration, what will they do when he retires? Again thanks for everything you do. I love being your organist-Music Director.

She lived for almost 85 years. And when she died last fall, Hallie Jefferson died a faithful steward of God’s many gifts. Hallie was a nurse by profession. She reared two boys and two stepdaughters. She also helped rear a child or two who had been dismissed from their parent’s home. Hallie was a woman of prayer, a woman who loved reading Scripture, a woman who could be found every Sunday in the fourth pew back on the pulpit side. She was a faithful steward of her time, her talent—and her treasure.
