Deutsche Kirche Dallas We at Christ Lutheran Church are in touch with and proud of our German heritage. And we continually strive to build and grow relationships with the German community in Dallas. Here are a few of the ministry and fellowship opportunities we offer for our German neighbors.
Beginning in May, Christ Lutheran will host monthly Sunday activities and events planned and led by Vicars Michael and Katharina Behrens. These activities are part of the CLC German outreach program "Deutsche Kirche Dallas." To start with something completely new, the vicars wanted to offer a fun activity for our German neighbors, hence the “Tatort-Gottesdienst” event (see below). The following activities over the next months will involve walks (Spaziergang), coffee and cake (Kaffee und Kuchen) and devotional time, as well as more worship services in German.
Join us for these events, taking place the last Sunday of the month.
German Sunday Activities
German Family Easter Worship For the first time this year, we held a German family service on Easter Sunday, and it was very successful. We were pleased that so many people attended both the worship service and the reception afterward. One attendee said, "It was wonderful to have an Easter service in my native language. It reminded me of home." And one of the families that joined us said, "We moved here last January and were very surprised and pleased to find a service completely in German." Thanks to all who came to our inaugural German Family Easter service! We look forward to seeing you again next year.
German Sunday Stroll A fun and simple Sunday activity is our Sunday Stroll, in which we will walk and talk together, see God’s creation and hear God’s words for us. We'll meet up at a different location each time and enjoy fellowship together.

German Groups Associated with Christ Lutheran Church
Dallas Goethe Center Christ Lutheran is proud to be the home of the Dallas Goethe Center's German language classes for children and adults, which meet here every Saturday.
The Johanniter Humanitarian Group The Johanniter Humanitarian Group of Texas (JHG) is part of the greater, international Johanniter community. Some of our Christ Lutheran members are also members of JHG. In adhering to their German roots and the Order's calling, these members perform works of service in the community. They help to host our German Advent Service and work with the NT-NL Mission Area to foster the American Luther Research Center at Briarwood Retreat Center.
