In the last weeks we have seen an incredible amount of damage here to victims of intense tornadoes. The Johanniter Order (Order of St. John) has offered to match our church Dollar for Dollar (up to an amount of $2,000) all donations designated for relief efforts. Donations will go exclusively without any deduction to the Salvation Army of Dallas, which has set up a special Tornado relief fund. This fund will allow the Salvation Army to provide refreshments, emotional and spiritual care to first responders and families affected by the recent tornados in several communities across Texas. Please make checks out to Christ Lutheran Church and enter into the reference field “Tornado relief fund”. In order to ensure timely delivery of the needed funds, checks must be received by January 31.
Bishop Kevin S. Kanouse will be joining us for worship with us at CLC on Sunday, January 31. He will be at both the 8:30 & 11 AM services and at our Adult Faith Formation class at 10 AM. Let’s give him a CLC welcome! https://ntnl.org/author/kkanouse/ Thirteen dedicated volunteers showed up at 9:30 in the morning on Wednesday December 30 at Mount Olive Food Pantry to help make hot dogs, pack lunch bags with water, fruit, snacks and dessert, and to pass out the lunches to the homeless and hungry. So many hands meant the work was easy and light, not to mention a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who came to help serve on our last 5th Wednesday of the month in 2015. Hope to see you all again and even some new faces in 2016!
