Courageous Conversation Event: Saturday, March 25 from Noon till 2 PM. The event will take place at CLC. Feel free to bring a sack lunch and drinks will be provided. First Communion and First Bibles: For those youth third grade and older who wish to receive instruction for their first communion please join Pastor in room 218 at 5 PM on March 22. We will go over the schedule of events as our youth prepare for this meaningful milestone and sacrament. That same evening at 6:15 PM as part of our mid-week Lenten worship the youth will be presented with their first Bibles, a gift from CLC to help parents fulfill the baptismal promise made at their child’s baptism. 1st Communion Retreat/Chalice making on March 26 from 12:30 - 2 PM. Senior Fest: The North Texas Senior Fest 2017 will take place tomorrow, February 25 at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Plano (1919 Independence Parkway). All Lutherans ages 50 + are invited to attend. The Rev. Dr. Russell Vardell, pastor at First United Lutheran Church in Dallas, will be our main speaker as we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Registration is $25 per person. The North Texas Senior Fest is sponsored by ALOA – Adult Lutherans Organized for Action, an inter-Lutheran movement that provides resources for older adult ministry of the LCMS and ELCA. ALOA’s mission is to equip mature adults to celebrate and serve. “Creation Care and Climate Change: It’s About the Kids!” This seminar is about the well-being of our grandchildren and care of the earth. There is cause for hope and need for action. Presenters include: Dr. Barbara Rossing, Professor of New Testament, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago; Ms. Bee Moorhead the Rev. Sam Brannon, Texas Impact; Dr. M.Z.
