Happy September! I hope you had a beautiful summer! September is a time for new beginnings, including the choir. Have you thought about singing in the choir? We are looking for new choir members and welcome all! No music-reading or other skills are required. Please consider joining us! Fred Green has beautifully explained what singing in a choir is all about: "When in our music God is glorified, and adoration leaves no room for pride, it is as though the whole creation cried: Alleluia! How often, making music, we have found a new dimension in the world of sound, as worship moved us to a more profound Alleluia! So has the church, in liturgy and song, in faith and love, through centuries of wrong, borne witness to the truth in every tongue: Alleluia! And did not Jesus sing a Psalm that night when utmost evil strove against the light? Then let us sing, for whom he won the fight: Alleluia! Let every instrument be tuned for praise! Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise! And may God give us faith to sing always: Alleluia!" Come sing with us, and let's glorify God in our music! (Sanctuary Choir)
Prayers to all in need: Our church and all other churches, the people of Ukraine, all countries and people who struggle with conflict and division, people in poverty, those dealing with health issues, and those searching for love, truth, and spirituality. God Gets the Glory! Many thanks to T. Browne, L. Haynie, B. Lintel, B. Spellicy, and K. Bernauer for their beautiful musical offerings in August! Special thanks to J. Morton for monitoring our live stream services and G. Haschke for sound engineering! "Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us." (Martin Luther) See you at church!
