Children's Ministry

Opportunities in Worship
We wholeheartedly welcome children of all ages in worship. It is a sign that our congregation is vibrant and full of life. Each week a children’s sermon is offered by either Pastor Ben, which sometimes includes Benjamin Bullfrog or by Ms. Eliana, our Youth and Family Ministry Director. From time to time, children will sing or help participate in different types of dramas. There are activity bags located in the back of the sanctuary for use during the service. |
Sunday School
Elementary Sunday School at Christ Lutheran is designed to begin to build foundation for what is to come as children approach Confirmation. Each week those in grades 1-5 gather to pray together, read God’s Word and learn what it’s saying for their lives today, along with games and lots of fun!

*Note upon starting classes each school year, parents are required to fill out registration forms that can be found on the church website.
Youth Ministry
Opportunities in Worship
As children grow older, they are encouraged to take active part in the worshiping assembly. This can be Acylating, being an assisting minister, helping with the livestream and sound, singing in worship or working with the Altar Guild to set the altar for Sunday mornings. During certain seasons, i.e. Advent and Lent, youth may also take part in telling the sermon through dramas and plays.
Education

The Education hour for those in 6-12 grade is a combination of studying and learning what is required for Confirmation. This includes things like the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostle's Creed and their meanings. Along with that, we dive into foundational Lutheran teaching, and Bible study.

Confirmation
|
At Christ Lutheran, our Confirmation program is a little different than you may see other places. As mentioned above, the learning takes place during the weekly education hour. Additionally, confirmation candidates are required to attend worship, serve in a ministry area on Sunday mornings, capture sermon notes, serve in the congregation for events such as Oktoberfest, and connect monthly with either Pastor Ben or Eliana.

Our youth engage in a variety of mission work, but the schedule generally consists of the following:
Summer Mission Trip
|
Each summer, usually in July, the youth embark on summer trip to serve alongside different communities. In the past few years, we’ve been to Nashville, New Orleans, and Chicago.
