“No, no, we are not satisfied and will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.” – Martin Luther King, Jr. This summer, our youth will follow the path of the civil rights movement as part of the annual mission trip. Join the fun, work, laughter, mission, occasional sleepless night, occasional joke at Scot’s expense, and exploration to find out what challenges each day brings. This summer it’s to LA! The majority of our events are about learning about God, whereas this trip puts what God says into practice and it is so valuable to see God at work through us. This trip has been designed specifically for Jr. Highers to provide them with the safest and most fulfilling experience possible. The hope of this trip is not only to just help people now, but to develop a lifetime interest in serving God and helping others. The kids will learn to minister in shelters, children’s programs, churches, food banks, soup kitchens, and neighborhood centers. They will also be exposed to new situations, opportunities and physical surroundings that will challenge their stereotypes and assumptions. By living in an urban setting, they will interact with people of the city. Also the kids will be fed in small, family-operated ethnic restaurants that provide an additional window into the cultures of the world. The past years’ trips have had such a positive affect on so many of the kids in our youth group, that I am very excited to see what God has in store for us this year. ~Scot Redman Cost: $400 (June 15) Release & Waiver FormThis year’s High School Mission Trip (8th - 12th Grade) is going to be a very exciting 12 days. I know these are hectic times for high school kids and there are many reasons not to go on a mission trip. In my opinion, there is no more important activity that we do as a youth group than this. Mission trips are life changing. I have personally seen this impact on many youth. We spend most of the year being served and sometimes we forget that God calls us to serve others, so I ask that no matter what you have planned this summer, please prayerfully consider this trip for your youth. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us this summer. Cost: $600 (Due June 1) Release & Waiver FormRelease & Waiver Form |
